Kalinjar Durg
Kalinjar Durg: 75 km from Chitrakoot. This historic ancient fort is situated on the Banda-Satna highway. To come to Kalinjar from Chitrakoot, one has to come to Naraini after taking a break.
Many means are available to come here from Naraini. This fort is built on a huge hill in a vast terrain. This fortress of prehistoric period is special for visitors, awe-inspiring and thrilling.
Research work from the Department of Archeology continues here. Above this fort there are also many scenic ancient sites such as Mrig Dhara, Vriddh Kund, Pandava Kund which is now known as Sargwah. There is a grand huge ancient Shiva temple in the name of Neelkantheshwar Mahadev.
From this place a beautiful view of the forest spread over a vast area is visible. A huge fair is held here on the day of Kartik Purnima and Shivaratri. Foreign tourists come here in large numbers. The tourism department is running a plan to renovate this fort.
