Sati Anasuya Ashram

 

 Seeing this, the Mahasati Anusuya tribulation began to ignite, then he did austerity, following strict rules, and with his austerity, flowed a stream of Mandakini on here and resolved the sufferings of all the sages living in the forest.

 This ashram is very holy.  Here, the great sage Atri resided with his devout wife Mahasati Anusuya.  According to the description of Maharishi Valmiki, once there was no rain for 10 years.

  There was a terrible famine here in this uneven state.  Due to severe lack of food and water, the forest started burning continuously.  Animals - birds and all living animals started to trample. 

Even at the present time, thousands of water bodies from the Mountain range womb continue to be decimated.  All these water bodies merge into a pool and flow as a Mandakini river.  Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram visited here to see Maharishi Attri and Mahasati Anusuya.  Then Sati Anusuya Ji had made Sita aware of the glory and importance of existence.  This episode is described by Goswami ji as follows: 

This is where the famous Dandak forest covered with giant dense trees of teak begins.  From the Itti site, the boundary of the kingdom of Ravana, which was the ancient description, also started.  Ravana had appointed inaccessible powerful demons like Viradha and Khar to protect his state border.  Dandaka Forest is also named Dandakaranya.  In this period of time, this forest area was subjected to the terrible harassment and oppression of demons.
