Surya Kund This shrine is 8 km from Chitrakoot Ramghat. 

The road leads north from the Bedi Pulia. This ashram belonged to the Sage Bekhanas,

 when Lord Rama Chitrakoot arrived in the Treta Yuga, at the same time Lord Surya came to Chitrakoot to see Lord Rama. Then the lord Surya stoped in this ashram so when he comes to this ashram with his chariot, then its temperature melts to the rocks here.

 Evidence of this is still found today. There is also a pool near this ashram which we know as Suryakund. And the belief of this pool is that the length of this pool is infinite.

 That is why, here Mandakini river flows westward. It is believed that by taking bath in this pool, that creature goes to Surya Loka.
